Elisso Bolkvadze – The Queen of the Piano

Elisso Bolkvadze is the first famous Georgian pianist awarded with the UNESCO Artist for Peace Title. She has also won numerous international prestigious competitions. 


In 2015, she was awarded with the Prestigious Cavalier Order in art and literature by the Republic of France. 

Different halls of the world regularly invite the Georgian virtuoso to hold her solo concerts or to play with different symphony orchestras.

Elisso Bolkvadze is an outstanding philanthropist. 

In 2013, the Georgian pianist created the LYRA Foundation to help the Georgian young pianists with their studies and appearing on the international arena.

Elisso Bolkvadze created annual international Batumi festival “Batumi Music Fest”. 

The Georgian artist was born in Tbilisi, of a family of a famous poet and men of letters.

The little virtuoso performed her first concert as early as at the age of 7. 



Elisso Bolkvadze’s life and work was greatly influenced by French composer and musician Michel Sogny. “You must overcome your limit”, - this is the main idea Michel Sogny inspired the musician’s life with.

On May 3, 2016, Elisso Bolkvadze will hold a charity concert at the State Theater in Kutaisi.

The newspaper The New York Times named Elisso Bolkvadze “An amazing talent”.

“I am enchanted with her musicality and absolute control of her instrument,” – says Zubin Mehta.

The Journal Classica Magazine comments of Elisso Bolkvadze as of “a brilliant virtuoso and superb person”.
